The Flara is a 53cm-long polished chrome wall light with an integrated 23W LED running at 3000K, casting warm white light along walls and corridors. The metal body sits flat against the wall with a 75mm projection, making it suitable for narrower hallways, bathrooms and landing areas where a deeper projection would interrupt movement or create headstrike risk.

Designed as functional rather than decorative lighting, the Flara provides lateral wash light along walls to guide movement through hallways, illuminate bathroom mirrors, or add task light above kitchen worktops where under-cabinet fittings are not an option. The IP20 rating restricts use to dry interior zones only — it is not suitable for direct splash zones in bathrooms (zones 1 or 2). The integrated LED cannot be replaced, but the 5-year warranty covers the entire module.

The polished chrome finish reflects ambient daylight and pairs with chrome taps, handles and bathroom fittings in coordinated schemes. The metal construction dissipates heat from the LED module without requiring additional ventilation slots, keeping the exterior smooth and wipeable. At 530mm length the fitting covers a similar span to a standard bathroom mirror width, making it a common choice for over-mirror installation in ensuites and cloakrooms.

Is the Flara dimmable?

No. The integrated LED operates on fixed 230V mains power and is not compatible with dimmer switches. Installing the Flara on a dimmed circuit may cause flickering or prevent the LED from lighting.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

The IP20 rating permits dry interior use only. It can be used in bathrooms outside direct splash zones (zone 0, 1, 2), typically on walls opposite the shower or above a mirror at least 60cm from water outlets. It is not suitable for direct mounting above a sink or inside a shower enclosure.

What happens when the LED stops working?

The integrated LED is not user-replaceable. Ideal Lux provides a 5-year warranty covering the entire fitting, including the LED module. If the LED fails within warranty, the fitting is replaced.

How is it mounted?

The Flara mounts to a standard UK single-gang back box or directly to a wall with concealed cable entry. The 75mm projection includes the mounting plate, so the visible chrome body sits approximately 50mm from the wall surface once installed.
