The Knightsbridge RW6CW is a 6W fire-rated LED downlight with an integrated driver, delivering 690 lumens of 4000K cool white light through a 40° beam angle. The white aluminium and polycarbonate construction carries an IP65 rating on the front face (IP20 from above), making it suitable for bathrooms, kitchens and zones requiring moisture protection. Designed for recessed installation in ceilings with a minimum 120mm void depth, the downlight requires a 72mm cut-out and projects just 7mm below the ceiling line once fitted. What ceiling void depth is required?

A minimum 120mm void depth is needed above the ceiling to accommodate the 67mm recessed depth of the fitting plus the driver housing. The 72mm cut-out diameter determines the hole size in the plasterboard or ceiling material.

Is this suitable for bathroom zones?

Yes. The IP65 rating on the front face meets requirements for bathroom zones 1 and 2 (above the bath/shower). Note the IP20 rating from above means the void space above the ceiling must not be subject to water ingress.

What is the fire rating?

The downlight is tested and rated for 30, 60 and 90 minute fire resistance when installed in ceilings with solid wood joists, meeting Part B Building Regulations for fire-rated ceiling penetrations in UK residential and commercial buildings.
