Description
The Faylen is a 300mm alabaster bowl pendant light with a shallow domed shade cut from natural Spanish alabaster, suspended on a black flex from a brushed brass lamp holder and ribbed brass collar. A single E27 lamp sits inside the bowl (sold separately), with the alabaster itself acting as the diffuser and a small opal glass element below the lamp softening downward glare.
Designed for kitchen islands, breakfast bars, dining tables and entrance halls, the Faylen suits ceiling heights of 2.4m or higher. The 150mm height keeps the fitting low-profile, so it sits comfortably above a worktop without dominating the sightline across an open-plan room. The flex length is adjustable on installation, allowing the bowl to be set 600-900mm above a worktop or 700-800mm above a dining table depending on ceiling height.
Each alabaster bowl is cut from a single block of stone, so the veining, tonal variation and translucency differ between individual pendants. The 300mm diameter and 150mm height give a wider, flatter profile than a typical hemispherical alabaster pendant, casting a broader pool of warm light across the surface beneath. The brushed brass lamp holder and knurled collar above the stone provide a warm metallic contrast against the soft white alabaster without competing with the natural pattern of the shade.

Frequently Asked
What bulb does the Faylen take?
The Faylen takes a single E27 (Edison screw) bulb, sold separately. A warm-white LED between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K pairs well with the alabaster shade, allowing the stone's natural veining to glow without producing a cool or clinical light.
Is the Faylen dimmable?
The fitting itself does not include a dimmer. Dimming depends on the bulb chosen and the dimmer switch installed on the circuit. A dimmable LED E27 paired with a compatible LED dimmer will allow the output to be adjusted.
Does each alabaster shade look the same?
No. Each bowl is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so the veining, tonal variation and translucency differ between individual pieces. This is a feature of the natural material, not a defect.
How is the alabaster cleaned?
Alabaster is porous and softer than marble. Wipe gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. For more stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but avoid soaking the stone and do not use household sprays, polishes or chemical cleaners.
