Facette 50cm Geometric Pendant Light - Gloss Black & Polished Chrome

The Facette is a 50cm geometric pendant light built around a faceted polyurethane outer shade finished in gloss black, framed with polished chrome edge detailing. An opal glass sphere sits inside the faceted cage, housing a single E27 bulb fitting. Light from the bulb diffuses through the opal glass and escapes through the triangular apertures cut into the black outer shade, casting geometric shadow patterns onto surrounding surfaces.

Designed for dining rooms, kitchen islands and double-height entrance halls where a statement piece is needed above 2.7m ceiling height, the Facette pairs ambient and decorative function. The drop is adjustable between 500mm and 1500mm on installation using the black braided cable, allowing the pendant to be set at dining table height (700-800mm above the surface) or lowered further in taller spaces. The polished chrome frame catches and reflects surrounding light, adding visual depth to the black faceted geometry.

The 500mm diameter gives the Facette substantial presence in mid-to-large rooms without overwhelming smaller dining areas or kitchen islands under 2m length. The gloss black finish on the polyurethane shade is lacquered to a high sheen, contrasting with the mirror-finish chrome edges. At 3.9kg the pendant requires a secure ceiling rose rated for suspension fittings. The E27 fitting accepts LED, halogen or decorative filament bulbs up to 60W equivalent, and is dimmable when paired with compatible bulbs and a suitable dimmer switch.

What bulb does the Facette take?

The pendant takes a single E27 Edison screw bulb up to 60W equivalent. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED bulb between 8-15W and 2700K-3000K for dining and living spaces, or a decorative filament bulb where the faceted shade will show the bulb shape through the apertures.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, when paired with a dimmable E27 bulb and a compatible dimmer switch. The dimmer must match the bulb type — LED bulbs require an LED-rated trailing-edge dimmer for smooth dimming without flicker.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 500-1500mm adjustable drop works best in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.7m or above. For dining tables the pendant typically sits 700-800mm above the surface, which requires approximately 2.4m ceiling height at minimum drop. The Facette's 500mm diameter is visually balanced in rooms where the ceiling height exceeds the pendant's width.

Does the black finish mark or scratch easily?

The gloss black lacquer on the polyurethane shade is durable under normal use but can show fingerprints during handling. Wipe with a soft dry microfibre cloth to remove dust. Avoid abrasive cleaners or scouring pads on the gloss finish.
