Description

The Eve is a semi-flush ceiling light built around a curved polished chrome arm that sweeps up from a 260mm ceiling plate to suspend a 450mm oval fabric drum shade 435mm below the ceiling. The shade is wrapped in ivory wrinkled fabric with a clear inner liner, and houses two E27 bulb fittings inside the drum. The polished chrome arm enters the shade at an angle, creating an asymmetric visual balance between the reflective metal and the soft textured fabric.

Designed for rooms with standard 2.4m ceiling heights, the Eve suits bedrooms, dining rooms, hallways and living rooms where a semi-flush fitting provides ambient light without the drop of a full pendant. The 450mm shade diameter covers a reasonable area for a central ceiling position in a 3-4m room, and the ivory fabric diffuses light from the two E27 bulbs evenly across the underside of the drum without harsh shadows or glare.

The wrinkled ivory fabric gives the shade visible texture even when unlit, and the clear inner liner ensures maximum light output while maintaining the soft appearance of the outer fabric. The polished chrome finish on the arm and ceiling plate reflects ambient daylight and pairs with chrome tap fittings, door furniture and cabinet handles in bathrooms and kitchens fitted with coordinated metalwork. The 2kg weight requires a secure ceiling fixing into a joist or solid ceiling structure.

What bulbs does the Eve take?

The fitting takes two E27 (Edison screw) bulbs, sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED bulbs between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for ambient bedroom or dining room lighting.

Is the Eve dimmable?

Yes, provided you use dimmable bulbs and pair them with a compatible dimmer switch. The fitting itself supports dimming but the bulbs and dimmer must also be rated for dimming use.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 435mm drop from ceiling to bottom of shade suits standard 2.4m ceiling heights. In rooms with lower ceilings the fitting can still be used but may feel more visually prominent. In higher ceilings above 2.7m a full pendant may provide better proportion.

Can the fabric shade be cleaned?

The ivory fabric can be dusted with a soft brush or lint roller. For more stubborn marks, use a barely-damp microfibre cloth and allow to air-dry fully before switching the light back on. Do not use spray cleaners or immerse the shade in water.
