Description
The Ethereal is a table lamp built around a 160mm opal white glass globe mounted on a matt black L-shaped metal frame, set on a brushed brass circular plinth. The frame extends 130mm in length and 160mm in depth, positioning the globe at mid-height above the base. A single G9 bulb (sold separately) inside the globe creates diffused ambient light through the white glass.
Designed for bedside tables, side tables, desks and console surfaces in living rooms, bedrooms and studies, the Ethereal provides localised task and ambient light without needing a ceiling fitting. The 1750mm cable allows flexibility in placement relative to wall sockets. The IP20 rating restricts use to dry indoor locations only — not suitable for bathrooms or outdoor areas.
The combination of brushed brass, matt black and opal white glass creates a three-tone material palette that suits both warm and cool interior schemes. The brass plinth anchors the visual weight while the black frame provides structure without competing with the globe. The compact footprint (approximately 130mm x 160mm) allows the lamp to sit on narrow surfaces or bedside tables without overhanging the edge. The white glass softens light output, reducing glare for evening reading or ambient background light.
Ideal Lux manufacture the Ethereal in Italy and back it with a five-year warranty covering manufacturing defects and component failure under normal domestic use.

Frequently Asked
What bulb does it take?
The lamp takes a single G9 capsule bulb, sold separately. Most users pair this with a 4-6W LED G9 in warm white (2700K-3000K) for bedside or desk use. The lamp is not dimmable, so brightness is controlled by the bulb wattage chosen.
What are the dimensions of the base?
The brushed brass plinth is circular with a diameter of approximately 130mm. The overall footprint including the black frame extends 130mm in length and 160mm in projection, making it suitable for narrow bedside tables and console surfaces.
Can it be used in a bathroom?
No. The IP20 rating restricts use to dry indoor locations only. The lamp is not protected against moisture or steam and should not be installed in bathrooms, wet rooms or outdoor covered areas.
Is the white finish glossy or matt?
The globe is made from opal white glass with a semi-translucent finish that diffuses light evenly. The black metal frame has a matt powder-coated finish, while the plinth is brushed brass with a low-sheen satin surface.
