Description

The ESP H1C864R is a 64-channel IP network video recorder (NVR) from the HDview 24/7 range, supplied with an 8TB hard drive already fitted. It records footage from up to 64 IP cameras at resolutions up to 12MP and uses H.265 video compression to reduce file sizes and extend how long recordings are retained on the drive. It is built for larger residential, commercial and multi-building CCTV systems where a high channel count and long retention are needed.

Cameras connect to the recorder over the network through its two uplink ports, so the NVR sits alongside your existing network switches rather than every camera plugging directly into the unit. This model does not provide PoE at the recorder itself, so cameras are powered by a PoE switch or a separate supply. It is compatible with ESP's 24/7 HDview 5MP and 8MP cameras and the Rekor IP 2MP range. Recording runs in continuous, scheduled, motion-triggered or intelligent modes, and the built-in analytics include line-cross detection and perimeter intrusion detection to flag activity in defined zones rather than recording indiscriminately.

Two HDMI outputs, both supporting up to 4K, plus a VGA output allow one or more monitors to be connected for live viewing and playback, and footage can be played back, recorded and viewed remotely at the same time. Recordings export to a USB memory stick for evidence gathering, and remote monitoring is available through the ESP smartphone app. The recorder runs on a 100 to 240V AC supply and draws under 25W. Please note the H1C864R is the recorder only; cameras are purchased separately.

Frequently Asked

How many cameras can this NVR record?

The H1C864R supports up to 64 IP camera channels. Cameras connect over the network through the recorder's two uplink ports, usually via a PoE network switch that powers the cameras.

Does the NVR power the cameras over PoE?

No. This 64-channel model has no built-in PoE ports, so cameras are powered separately, typically by a PoE switch or individual power supplies. If you need PoE at the recorder itself, choose one of the lower-channel HDview PoE NVRs.

Which cameras is it compatible with?

It works with ESP's 24/7 HDview 5MP and 8MP cameras and the Rekor IP 2MP range. It records resolutions up to 12MP, so it also supports higher-resolution cameras as the system grows.

How much footage does the 8TB drive hold?

Retention depends on how many cameras are connected, their resolution and frame rate, and how much motion they record. H.265 compression stores considerably more than older H.264 recorders. For continuous recording across many high-resolution channels, higher-capacity versions of this NVR are available.
