Description

The Eris is a 25W constant current LED driver compatible with 1-10V dimming systems, housed in a compact 124mm x 79mm white plastic case. Constant current output maintains steady power to LED fixtures regardless of voltage fluctuations, preventing flicker and extending LED lifespan compared to constant voltage designs.

Designed for ceiling voids, false ceilings and other concealed installation spaces in residential and commercial interiors, the driver fits into standard recessed light housings and ceiling-mounted LED panel back boxes. The 1-10V dimming protocol works with compatible wall dimmers and building management systems to adjust light output from 100% down to approximately 10% without visible flicker or stepped transitions.

The IP20 rating limits the driver to dry indoor locations away from direct moisture exposure. The white plastic housing includes captive cable entry points on both ends and ventilation slots on the sides to dissipate heat generated during operation. At 25W output the driver suits small to medium LED panels, downlights and linear fittings typically drawing 18-25W, with the exact LED load depending on the specific constant current requirements of the fixture.

Frequently Asked

What's the difference between constant current and constant voltage drivers?

Constant current drivers maintain a fixed current (measured in milliamps) and vary voltage to match the LED load, which prevents thermal runaway and extends LED life. Constant voltage drivers maintain fixed voltage and let the current vary, which suits LED strips and multi-LED arrays with built-in current regulation. Most single LED panels and downlights need constant current drivers.

Is this compatible with trailing-edge dimmers?

No. The Eris uses 1-10V dimming protocol, which requires a dedicated 1-10V dimmer or control system sending a low-voltage signal to the driver. It does not work with mains-voltage trailing-edge or leading-edge dimmers designed for incandescent or halogen loads.

What ceiling void depth is needed?

The 79mm projection means the driver needs a minimum 85-90mm ceiling void depth to allow clearance for cable entry and heat dissipation. Most modern false ceilings and plasterboard ceilings on timber joists provide 100mm or more, which is sufficient.

Can multiple LED fixtures share one driver?

Only if the combined constant current requirement of all fixtures matches the driver's output specification. Most installations pair one driver to one fixture. Check the LED fixture's datasheet for its constant current draw before attempting parallel wiring.

Free worldwide delivery

Free worldwide delivery on all orders over £99. International orders for third-party brand products may be subject to an additional courier surcharge based on volumetric weight, particularly on larger lighting fixtures — if a surcharge applies, our team will email you with the amount before dispatch and you can proceed or cancel for a full refund. See full delivery terms.

Returns

30-day returns window from delivery. As all our products are electrical or lighting goods, returned items must be inspected and recertified by a qualified electrician before resale — the cost of this inspection (25–40% of the item value) is deducted from your refund. Customers pay return shipping. Made-to-order, special-order and clearance items cannot be returned. See full returns policy.
