Description
The Eris is a 12W constant current LED driver in a 135mm white plastic housing, rated IP20 for indoor installation. It regulates current to maintain consistent LED output regardless of minor voltage fluctuations, protecting connected LED strips, panels or downlights from overcurrent damage whilst ensuring stable light levels.
Designed for residential, retail and office lighting installations, the driver is compatible with trailing-edge and leading-edge dimmers depending on the dimmer model used. The 30mm profile allows it to fit inside ceiling voids, above plasterboard ceilings with 50mm clearance, or mounted behind joinery where mains-voltage drivers would not fit. The IP20 rating restricts use to dry indoor environments — hallways, living rooms, bedrooms, offices and retail spaces — and excludes bathrooms, kitchens within splashback zones, or any outdoor application.
The compact 135mm x 30mm footprint makes the Eris suitable for retrofit projects where ceiling void space is limited or where multiple drivers need to be positioned close together without interfering with insulation or services. The white plastic casing includes cable knockouts at both ends and fixed terminal blocks for mains input and LED output connections. Ideal Lux backs the driver with a 5-year warranty.

Frequently Asked
What dimmer systems is it compatible with?
The Eris works with most trailing-edge and leading-edge dimmers designed for LED loads. Compatibility depends on the specific dimmer model and the total load connected. Test compatibility with your chosen dimmer before committing to a full installation.
Can it be used in bathrooms?
No. The IP20 rating limits the driver to dry indoor environments only. Bathrooms require IP44 or higher rated drivers to comply with UK wiring regulations for zones around baths and showers.
What's the maximum load it can drive?
The driver is rated at 12W output. It will drive LED loads up to this wattage — for example, a 10W LED panel, a 3m run of 4W/m LED strip, or three 4W LED downlights wired in series depending on the voltage and current rating of the LEDs.
Where should it be mounted?
The driver should be mounted in a ventilated space with ambient temperatures not exceeding the maximum operating temperature shown on the product label. Ceiling voids above plasterboard, behind false walls, or inside furniture units with adequate air circulation are typical locations. Do not cover with insulation or mount in enclosed spaces without ventilation.
