Description
The Erich is a 120cm-wide island suspension light built around a horizontal gold-finished metal bar carrying five white blown glass globes — three suspended downward from the underside and two extending horizontally at each end. Each globe houses an E14 bulb (sold separately, max 40W per socket), giving the fitting a maximum 200W combined output across the five positions.
Designed for kitchen islands, dining tables and breakfast bars between 1.6m and 2.4m long, the Erich provides distributed task and ambient light across a linear surface. The adjustable suspension height ranges from 45.3cm minimum to 149.3cm maximum, allowing the fitting to be set 70-80cm above a worktop or table depending on ceiling height. The gold frame is a warm metallic tone that pairs with brass cabinet hardware, copper accents and warm-toned timber cabinetry.
The white blown glass globes are hand-formed with slight variations in thickness and shape between pieces, giving each globe a different light-diffusion pattern when lit. The metal construction uses solid bars rather than tube sections, contributing to the fitting's 4.2kg weight and giving it substantial presence over a kitchen island without appearing delicate. The IP20 rating restricts use to dry indoor areas only.
The horizontal bar design means the fitting occupies minimal vertical space when hung at minimum drop, making it suitable for kitchens with standard 2.4m ceiling heights. The two outward-facing globes at each end extend the visual width beyond the central bar, balancing the proportions when viewed from the side and preventing the fitting from appearing too narrow for the 120cm span.

Frequently Asked
What bulbs does the Erich take?
The fitting uses five E14 small Edison screw bulbs, sold separately. Each socket is rated to 40W maximum. Most users pair this with warm-white LED candle or golf-ball bulbs at 6-8W and 2700K-3000K for kitchen and dining use.
What kitchen island length does it suit?
The 120cm-wide frame suits kitchen islands and dining tables between 1.6m and 2.4m long. For islands shorter than 1.6m the fitting may appear oversized; for islands longer than 2.4m consider pairing two Erich fittings in sequence or choosing a wider alternative.
How is the height adjusted?
The suspension height is adjusted on installation by shortening or extending the cable run before fixing the ceiling canopy. The minimum drop of 45.3cm suits standard 2.4m ceiling heights when the fitting is hung 70-80cm above a worktop. The maximum 149.3cm drop suits double-height rooms or higher ceilings.
Can it be used in a bathroom?
No. The IP20 rating means the fitting is not protected against moisture and must only be used in dry indoor areas. It is not suitable for bathrooms, wet rooms or outdoor locations.
