Description

Across our Esther range we stock this lampshade in three sizes, and this is the Medium in Light Blue, one of five colours we offer. It is built as a wide flat disc of soft feathers, catching the light in a way that reads more like a cloud than anything solid. The Light Blue textile at its centre gives the piece a gentle, cool tone, and we think it settles happily into a room without shouting for attention. At 23cm high, 50cm wide and 65cm long, it holds a generous presence while staying light in feel.

This one is adaptable. You can use it as a pendant, floor or table lampshade, and it is compatible with E27 fittings, so it works with a base or fitting you may already own. It can also be flipped 180 degrees to change the direction of the light and shift its look, which we find handy when a space needs softer downward light or a brighter upward glow. Assembly takes around 5 minutes and there is a video to follow if you would like a hand. The Medium weighs 0.62kg and is made from approximately 2790 goose feathers, along with textile and steel, all of it certified to the RDS Standard.

Because the feathers are natural, we would suggest keeping this lampshade out of direct sun, as prolonged exposure can cause fading over time. Hung above a dining table or paired with a table lamp base in a reading corner, it brings a soft, tactile quality that we keep coming back to.
