Our Eos Esther Lampshade in Light Brown is made from approximately 2790 goose feathers layered over a textile and steel structure, giving us a wide, flat disc of soft plumage rather than a smooth or globe shape. Each feather is set by hand into the frame, so the surface has real depth and a gentle warmth that suits the Light Brown colouring. We source the feathers to the RDS Standard, and we like how the medium disc holds its form while staying light in the hand. At this Medium size it measures 23cm in height, 50cm in width and 65cm in length, weighing just 0.62kg, which keeps it easy to hang or seat on a base.

This lampshade works in more than one place. It can be used as a pendant, as a floor lampshade or as a table lampshade, and it is compatible with E27 fittings. One detail we return to often is that it can be flipped 180 degrees, letting you change the direction of the light and the way the feathers read from below or above. Assembly takes around five minutes, and we include an assembly video so you can follow each step. When you position it above a dining table or pair it with a table lamp base, the feathers diffuse the glow softly through the outer edge of the disc.
