The Energizer CR2025 is a 3V lithium coin cell battery sold in a 4-pack blister. Each cell measures 20mm diameter by 2.5mm height and delivers consistent voltage output across a wide operating temperature range of -22°C to 60°C. Lithium chemistry provides a 10-year shelf life and stable discharge characteristics under both continuous and pulse-drain loads.

CR2025 cells are used in car key fobs, remote controls, calculators, bathroom and kitchen scales, glucose monitors, fitness trackers, watches, LED tea lights and motherboard CMOS backup. The 2.5mm height fits devices specifying CR2025 exactly — thicker CR2032 cells (3.2mm) will not fit in the same battery compartment. Energizer's leak-resistant construction uses a crimped seal and corrosion-resistant materials to reduce the risk of electrolyte leakage that can damage circuit boards in enclosed devices.

The CR2025 is cross-compatible with replacement designations including DL2025, ECR2025, BR2025, 5003LC, 280-205 and SB-T14. What's the difference between CR2025 and CR2032?

Both are 20mm diameter lithium coin cells at 3V, but the CR2025 is 2.5mm thick while the CR2032 is 3.2mm thick. The CR2032 has higher capacity due to the extra thickness, but will not fit in battery compartments designed for CR2025. Always check your device's battery compartment marking before substituting.

How long do CR2025 batteries last in storage?

Energizer rates these cells with a 10-year shelf life when stored at room temperature in the original packaging. Actual in-device runtime depends on the drain rate — a car key fob typically gets 2-4 years, while a watch may run 3-5 years on a single cell.

Can I use CR2025 in place of CR2016?

No. The CR2016 is only 1.6mm thick, so a 2.5mm CR2025 will not fit in a CR2016 compartment. The compartment lid will not close, or the cell will sit too high and lose contact with the terminals.

Are these batteries rechargeable?

No. CR2025 lithium coin cells are primary (single-use) batteries and cannot be recharged. Attempting to recharge them can cause leakage, venting or rupture.
