Description

The Empire-2 is a single-light glass pendant built around a cylindrical smoke-ombre glass shade with a perforated brass tube suspended inside. The glass fades from dark smoke at the top to clear at the base, creating a tonal gradient when viewed at eye level. The brass tube sits in the centre of the glass column, its perforations casting a dotted light pattern outward through the glass and downward onto surfaces below.

Designed for kitchen islands, dining tables and bar areas where individual pendants are hung in multiples or pairs, the Empire-2 suits ceiling heights of 2.4m or above when the drop is set to position the glass shade 700-900mm above the worktop or table. The 120mm diameter makes it compact enough to group in clusters of three or five over a 2-2.5m island without visual crowding. The black canopy and cable housing blend into dark ceilings or contrast cleanly against white.

The glass shade weighs approximately 800g and is mouth-blown, so minor variations in the smoke fade line and glass thickness occur between individual pieces. The perforated brass insert is fixed inside the shade and cannot be removed for cleaning. The pendant takes a single G9 halogen or LED capsule bulb (sold separately) up to 40W and is dimmable when paired with a compatible G9-rated dimmer switch.

No, the brass insert is fixed inside the glass shade during manufacturing and cannot be removed. The glass exterior can be wiped with a damp microfibre cloth. For the interior, use a long-handled duster or compressed air to clear dust from the perforations.

Does the smoke fade vary between pendants?

Yes. Each glass shade is mouth-blown, so the exact line where the smoke transitions to clear differs slightly between individual pieces. This is a characteristic of the manufacturing process, not a defect.
