Description

The Emberlux is a 60mm square surface-mount downlight in matte white metal with a single GU10 bulb fitting. The square profile projects 60mm from the ceiling and directs light downward through a recessed aperture in the base, making it a functional choice for task lighting in kitchens, bathrooms and hallways where ceiling voids are shallow or non-existent.

Designed as a surface-mount alternative to recessed downlights, the Emberlux fits directly to a standard ceiling rose or junction box without requiring a ceiling void or cut-out. This makes it suitable for installation in concrete ceilings, below-floor joists positions, and retrofits where recessed fittings cannot be accommodated. The white metal body blends into white or light-coloured ceilings and the 60mm x 60mm footprint provides a compact presence overhead.

The GU10 fitting accepts any standard GU10 LED, halogen or low-energy bulb up to 50W (sold separately), and is compatible with standard GU10 dimmers for adjustable brightness. The metal construction handles heat dissipation from higher-wattage GU10 halogens, though most users now pair this fitting with 5-7W LED GU10s at 3000K for kitchen worktop or hallway floor illumination. The IP20 rating restricts use to dry indoor areas — bathroom zones require IP44 or higher.
