Description

The Ember is a 275mm LED wall light built around a white metal frame with two horizontal bars that sandwich an integrated 17W LED strip. The light source sits between the bars, casting warm 3000K light both up and down the wall in a balanced wash. The white powder-coated metal finish gives a clean, minimalist appearance that reads neutral against painted walls.

Designed for hallways, bedrooms, living rooms and office corridors, the Ember provides functional ambient light without dominating the wall. The 100mm projection from the wall keeps the fitting compact enough for narrow hallways while still giving the light space to spread. The horizontal orientation suits positioning above doors, alongside mirrors, or as repeating units in a long corridor. The IP20 rating limits it to indoor use in dry areas away from bathrooms and wet rooms.

The integrated LED cannot be replaced as a bulb, but at 17W it draws approximately a fifth of the power a halogen equivalent would need for similar output. The 3000K colour temperature produces warm white light that sits between cool daylight LEDs and the amber glow of traditional tungsten bulbs. The fitting is non-dimmable, providing consistent output whenever switched on. Ideal Lux backs the Ember with a 5-year warranty covering the LED module and driver.

Is the LED replaceable?

No. The Ember uses an integrated LED module built into the fitting. The LED is rated for approximately 30,000 hours of use, which equates to roughly 15 years at 5-6 hours per day. When the LED eventually fails, the entire fitting would need replacing.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

No. The IP20 rating means the Ember is suitable only for dry indoor areas. It offers no protection against moisture or water ingress, so it cannot be installed in bathrooms, wet rooms, or outdoor locations.

Does it cast light up and down the wall?

Yes. The LED strip sits between two horizontal metal bars, so light escapes both above and below the fitting, creating an upward and downward wash on the wall behind it.

What mounting hardware is included?

The Ember includes a metal backplate with fixing holes for standard wall mounting. You will need to supply appropriate wall plugs and screws for your wall type (plasterboard, brick, concrete). Wiring connects via a terminal block inside the backplate.
