Description
The Drape is an 80cm outdoor bollard light with a cylindrical grey steel body and a white polycarbonate diffuser at the head, housing a single GU10 bulb (sold separately). The IP44 rating protects against rain and solid objects larger than 1mm, making it suitable for garden pathways, driveways, patio perimeters and alongside outdoor seating areas where downward-directed light is needed.
Designed for residential and commercial outdoor installations, the bollard stands 800mm tall with a 120mm diameter footprint, providing path-marking light without obstructing sightlines across gardens or outdoor dining areas. The bollard mounts on a fixed base plate that bolts to concrete, paving or decking, with the cable run concealed below ground or through the deck structure. The white diffuser directs light downward and outward in a soft cone pattern, reducing glare while illuminating a 2-3m radius around the base.
The grey powder-coated steel finish resists corrosion in typical UK weather conditions and pairs with contemporary, industrial and minimalist outdoor schemes. The steel construction gives the bollard sufficient weight to remain stable once fixed, and the diffuser is impact-resistant polycarbonate rather than glass. The GU10 fitting accepts LED, halogen or CFL bulbs up to the fitting's maximum wattage, allowing control over light temperature and output depending on the specific bulb chosen.
Ideal Lux covers the Drape bollard with a 5-year warranty against manufacturing defects. Dimmer compatibility depends on the GU10 bulb used — pair with a dimmable GU10 LED and a compatible outdoor dimmer if variable output is required.

Frequently Asked
What IP rating does the Drape carry?
The bollard is rated IP44, providing protection against rain and solid objects larger than 1mm. It is suitable for exposed outdoor positions including gardens, pathways and driveways in typical UK weather.
Does the bollard come with a bulb?
No. The Drape uses a GU10 bulb sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED GU10 between 4-7W and 2700K-3000K for pathway lighting.
Is it dimmable?
Dimmer compatibility depends on the GU10 bulb used. Pair with a dimmable GU10 LED and a compatible outdoor dimmer if variable output is required. The bollard fitting itself supports dimming.
How is the bollard fixed?
The Drape mounts on a fixed base plate that bolts to concrete, paving slabs or decking. The cable run is concealed below ground or through the deck structure before connection to outdoor mains supply. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician.
