The Dax is a 127mm cylindrical mini pendant finished in heritage brass with an integrated 8W LED providing warm 3000K light. The shade is a simple metal tube with open ends that direct light both downward and upward, creating a column of illumination suitable for task lighting over worktops or ambient accent lighting in hallways and alcoves.

Designed for installation over kitchen islands, breakfast bars, dining tables and countertops, the Dax works as a single focal point or in multiples spaced 300-500mm apart to create a row of directed downlights. The adjustable drop ranges from 203mm minimum to 1022mm maximum, allowing the pendant to be set at the correct height relative to ceiling height and worktop position. The heritage brass finish is a mid-tone satin brass that sits between polished brass and antique brass, with a warm metallic tone that pairs well with oak, walnut and warm-painted kitchens.

The metal shade measures 127mm diameter and 178mm height, giving the pendant a compact profile that doesn't dominate a room but provides focused downlight where needed. The integrated LED removes the need to source compatible bulbs and delivers consistent colour rendering across the 3000K warm white spectrum. The heritage brass coating is applied to steel, giving the pendant durability without excessive weight during installation.

Is the LED replaceable?

The LED is integrated into the fitting. Hinkley LED modules are rated for 50,000 hours of operation, which typically exceeds 10-15 years of domestic use before requiring replacement. If the LED fails within the 2-year guarantee period, the unit is covered under warranty.

Can multiple Dax pendants be installed in a row?

Yes. The Dax is commonly installed in rows of 2-4 units over kitchen islands or breakfast bars. Spacing of 300-500mm between centres provides even coverage without the pendants visually crowding each other. Each pendant requires its own ceiling connection point.

What ceiling height is needed?

The minimum drop of 203mm plus the 178mm shade height means the pendant extends at least 381mm from the ceiling. For installation over a worktop or dining table, a ceiling height of 2.4m or above allows the pendant to be hung 700-900mm above the surface without the bottom of the shade dropping below head height in the room.

How does heritage brass differ from polished brass?

Heritage brass is a satin-finish mid-tone brass that sits between the high shine of polished brass and the darker patina of antique brass. It has a warmer, less reflective appearance than polished brass and pairs well with both contemporary and traditional interiors.
