Description

The Dallas is a 123.5cm linear suspension light carrying 25 smoked glass globes arranged in five clusters along a black powder-coated metal bar. Each globe houses a G9 bulb (sold separately) behind a smoke-tinted glass sphere, diffusing the light output and creating a softer glow than clear glass. The black metal frame is suspended on two steel cables from a rectangular ceiling canopy, with a height-adjustable cable run from 44.8cm to 133.9cm.

Designed for installation above kitchen islands of 2-2.5m length or long dining tables seating six to eight people, the Dallas provides distributed light across the full length of the worktop or table surface. The 25 light sources give enough output for task visibility when fitted with warm-white G9 LEDs, while the smoked glass prevents direct glare from the bulbs themselves. The fixture suits ceiling heights of 2.5m or above, with the suspension typically set 70-80cm above a worktop or 75-85cm above a dining table depending on ceiling height.

The smoked glass globes vary slightly in tint between pieces due to the manufacturing process, giving each globe a subtly different depth of smoke when lit. The Dallas takes 25 x G9 bulbs at 28W maximum per bulb. Bulbs are sold separately. Most installations use G9 LED capsules between 2-5W per bulb, giving a combined output of 50-125W equivalent across the full fitting. Choose 2700K-3000K for warm white light suitable for dining and kitchen use.

What island or table length does it suit?

The 123.5cm length works best above kitchen islands of 2-2.5m or dining tables seating six to eight people. For shorter islands or tables under 1.8m, the Dallas may visually overpower the space. For islands longer than 2.5m, consider pairing two Dallas fittings or choosing a longer model.

How is the height adjusted?

The suspension cables are height-adjustable between 44.8cm and 133.9cm. Adjustment is made during installation by shortening or lengthening the cable run through the ceiling canopy. Once installed, height cannot be adjusted without accessing the canopy again.

Is it dimmable?

Dimmer compatibility depends on the bulbs used. G9 LED capsules marked as 'dimmable' will work with most trailing-edge LED dimmers, but check the bulb manufacturer's specifications before pairing with a dimmer switch. Non-dimmable G9 LEDs cannot be dimmed regardless of the dimmer type.
