Description

The Dali is a 1700mm floor lamp built around two polished brass arms that cross at the midpoint and rise to separate heights, each supporting a frosted glass shade housing a G9 bulb. The arms form a sculptural hourglass frame that tapers at the crossing point and flares out at both the base and the top, creating a vertical focal point without requiring significant floor space.

Designed for living rooms, hallway corners and lounge areas where ambient light and a vertical accent are both needed, the Dali sits on a 300mm circular polished brass base plate that provides stability without dominating the floor area. The frosted glass shades diffuse light evenly in all directions, softening the output from the G9 bulbs and preventing direct glare. The lamp accepts standard G9 halogen or LED bulbs (sold separately), and is dimmable when paired with dimmable bulbs and a compatible dimmer.

The polished brass finish provides a warm metallic accent that catches and reflects both natural daylight and artificial light from other sources in the room, giving the frame a slight glow even when the lamp is switched off. At 9.3kg the lamp has substantial weight that keeps it stable on carpets and hard floors, and the vertical arms guide cables internally to keep the silhouette clean. The Dali is, a Spanish lighting brand whose catalogue focuses on sculptural metal frameworks paired with glass and fabric diffusers.

Frequently Asked

What bulbs does the Dali take?

The lamp takes two G9 bulbs (sold separately). G9 is a small bi-pin capsule bulb available in both halogen and LED versions. Most users pair this with warm-white LED G9 bulbs rated at 3-5W and 2700K-3000K.

Is the Dali dimmable?

Yes, the lamp is dimmable when fitted with dimmable G9 bulbs and connected to a compatible dimmer switch. The dimmer must be rated for the total wattage of both bulbs and designed for the bulb technology you choose (LED dimmers for LED bulbs, halogen dimmers for halogen bulbs).

What ceiling height is needed?

At 1700mm tall, the Dali suits rooms with standard UK ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. The frosted shades diffuse light horizontally and upwards, so the lamp works well in corners where ceiling wash light is useful.

Is it stable on rugs and carpets?

The 300mm base plate and 9.3kg weight provide good stability on most short-pile rugs and carpets. On very thick or shag-pile rugs, consider placing the lamp where part of the base sits on bare floor for additional stability.
