Description

The Dali is a single-arm wall light with an integrated rocker switch, built around a polished chrome stem that curves through multiple bends before terminating in a spherical glass shade. The shade combines frosted and clear glass sections in horizontal bands, diffusing light from a single G9 bulb (sold separately) while maintaining some directional output through the clear zones.

Designed for bedside installation, hallways and living room accent lighting, the integrated switch allows the light to be controlled without reaching for a wall switch or pull cord. The 120mm projection from the wall places the light source clear of the backplate, making it suitable for reading positions next to a bed or armchair. The curved arm sits at an angle that directs most of the light downward and outward rather than directly into the wall.

The polished chrome finish on the arm and backplate provides a high-reflectivity surface that suits contemporary and transitional interiors. The chrome takes fingerprints easily during installation but cleans with a soft cloth and methylated spirits. At 0.69kg the fitting requires a secure fixing into masonry or a wall stud rather than plasterboard alone. The light is dimmable when paired with a dimmable G9 LED or halogen bulb and a compatible wall dimmer on the mains circuit.

What bulb does it take?

The Dali takes a single G9 capsule bulb (sold separately). Most users pair this with a 3-5W LED G9 bulb in 2700K-3000K warm white for bedside reading. The fitting accepts G9 halogen bulbs up to the wattage stated on the backplate label, but LED is more energy-efficient and runs cooler.

Can it be dimmed?

Yes, provided you use a dimmable G9 bulb and install a compatible dimmer switch on the mains circuit feeding the light. The integrated rocker switch on the fitting itself is an on/off switch only and does not control dimming.

How is the integrated switch wired?

The rocker switch on the backplate is wired inline with the bulb holder. The fitting still requires a permanent mains feed from a wall switch or fused spur, and the integrated switch then allows the light to be turned on or off locally without walking to the wall switch.

What fixing is needed for the weight?

At 0.69kg the fitting requires screws into masonry (with wall plugs) or directly into a timber stud. Plasterboard-only fixings are not recommended unless you use specialist heavy-duty cavity anchors rated to at least 5kg per fixing point.
