Made from plywood, steel and polyester, our Curious Counter Stool brings together warm wood and slim metalwork in one neat piece. We have shaped the round seat from moulded plywood in a natural Oak finish, paired with a small curved backrest that gives your lower back something to lean into. The four slender splayed legs are finished in black steel, with a footrest set at the right level for comfort. At 88.7cm tall, this is a true counter stool rather than a taller bar stool, so it sits well against kitchen islands and breakfast counters where you want a little extra height without towering over the worktop.

We have kept the proportions compact at 49cm wide and 51cm deep, which helps the stool tuck away when it is not in use and keeps walkways clear in busy kitchens. The counter stool weighs 8.75kg, with a soft seat cushion adding a further 0.8kg for a bit of everyday comfort. The Oak seat and black legs work happily alongside pale and dark schemes alike, and we think the splayed legs give it a lightness that stops the design feeling heavy.
