Description

The Congress is a 4-light chandelier built around a central polished chrome column with four curved arms, each holding a conical clear glass shade over an exposed E27 bulb fitting. The arms arc outward and downward from the central hub, distributing the four light sources across a 686mm diameter circle. Each glass shade tapers from a wide 200mm base to a narrow neck where it meets the chrome socket housing.

Designed for dining rooms, entrance halls and open-plan kitchen-dining areas with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above, the Congress provides general ambient lighting from four separately positioned bulbs rather than a single central source. The adjustable drop (578mm minimum to 1340mm maximum) allows the chandelier to be set 700-800mm above a dining table on installation, or hung lower in double-height entrance halls. The clear glass shades allow full visibility of the bulb filaments, making decorative LED or traditional filament bulbs the expected pairing.

The polished chrome frame gives high reflectivity under daylight and picks up warm tones from the bulbs when lit. The combined weight of chrome metalwork and four glass shades gives the fitting substantial presence without overwhelming a 6-8 seat dining table. The exposed bulb design suits both mid-century and industrial-influenced interiors where visible light sources are part of the aesthetic rather than hidden behind diffusers.

What bulbs does the Congress take?

Four E27 bulbs up to 60W each, sold separately. The clear glass shades leave the bulbs fully visible, so decorative LED filament bulbs in warm white (2200K-2700K) or vintage-style filament bulbs are common pairings. Standard LED bulbs also work but the bulb body will be visible through the glass.

What dining table size does it suit?

The 686mm diameter works over rectangular tables from 1600mm to 2200mm long, or round tables up to 1400mm diameter. The four-light spread provides more even coverage than a single-bulb pendant over longer table lengths.

Can the drop height be adjusted after installation?

The drop is adjustable between 578mm and 1340mm during installation by shortening the suspension rod. Once installed and wired, the height is fixed unless the chandelier is taken down and re-fitted.

Is the chrome finish lacquered or raw?

Hinkley polished chrome finishes are typically lacquered to resist tarnishing and fingerprints. Clean with a soft dry cloth; avoid abrasive cleaners that can damage the lacquer.
