Description

The Cleveland is a weathered bronze outdoor chain pendant with a single E27 bulb fitting inside a clear seeded glass shade. The aluminium frame carries an IP44 rating, protecting the internal components against dust ingress and water splashes from any direction, making it suitable for covered porches, pergolas and entrance canopies where some weather exposure occurs.

The lantern's curved glass shade sits within a traditional urn-style frame with decorative detailing at the crown and base. The seeded glass adds texture to the light output, softening the glow of filament-style bulbs while still allowing enough clarity for functional pathway or entrance lighting. The 1028mm chain is adjustable on installation, giving a minimum drop of 452mm from ceiling to base or extending to a maximum of 1412mm where higher ceilings or deeper porch areas require it.

At 185mm wide and 384mm tall, the Cleveland suits medium-sized porches and entrance areas without overwhelming narrower doorways. The weathered bronze finish develops a patina over time when exposed to outdoor conditions, adding to the traditional character of the frame. The E27 socket accepts standard Edison-screw bulbs up to 60W, allowing choice between warm filament LED, clear vintage-style LED or traditional halogen bulbs depending on the desired light quality and energy use.

Can this be used in fully exposed outdoor locations?

The IP44 rating protects against water splashes from any direction, making it suitable for covered porches, pergolas and entrance canopies. It is not rated for fully exposed locations where direct rain or standing water may reach the fitting. For exposed locations, an IP65 or higher rating is recommended.

What bulb does it take?

The Cleveland takes a standard E27 Edison-screw bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED filament bulb between 4-8W and 2200K-2700K for a traditional lantern appearance, or a vintage-style clear LED for decorative effect.

How is the chain length adjusted?

The 1028mm chain is adjusted during installation by removing links to shorten the drop. The minimum drop from ceiling to lantern base is 452mm, and the maximum is 1412mm. Once installed, the length is fixed unless the fitting is taken down and adjusted again.

Does the weathered bronze finish change over time?

Yes. The weathered bronze finish may develop further patina when exposed to outdoor conditions, particularly in coastal or high-humidity areas. This is characteristic of the finish and adds to the traditional appearance of the lantern.
