Description

At 35cm in diameter and just 16.6cm deep, our Medium Clava Up Wood Ceiling/Wall Light sits close to the surface it is mounted on, which makes it a practical choice for lower ceilings or a wall where projecting fittings would get in the way. Seen from below, it reads as a circular fitting of many fine radiating wooden slats around a solid oak centre disc, a little like a spoked wheel. It is designed to work as readily overhead as it does on a wall, and at 1.44kg it is light enough to fix without fuss.

The Oak finish keeps things warm and pale, with the grain of the slats catching light differently as you move around the room. It is made from oak, ash and laminated veneer, so the natural material carries right across the piece rather than sitting as a coating on top. Because it is surface mounted, we think it earns a spot where it can be seen properly, above a dining table, in a hallway, or beside a reading chair where the wall placement suits you. The circular form throws its light gently through the gaps between the slats, giving a softer wash than a bare fixture would.

Fitting it takes around five minutes, and we provide an assembly video if you would rather follow along. It takes an E27 bulb up to 15W LED G40, which is not included, so you can pick a warm 2700K bulb or something cooler to suit the room. The lamp carries UKCA, IP2X and CE standard markings and is rated for indoor use. If you want more coverage across a wider space, we also offer this design in a Large size, but the Medium is the one to reach for when you want a neat, close fit.
