Description

Oak, ash and laminated veneer come together in this large ceiling and wall light, one of our favourites for anyone who wants a wooden fitting overhead. Seen from below, it reads as a circular fitting of many fine radiating wooden slats set around a solid oak centre disc, a little like a spoked wheel. The warm grain of the timber gives it a soft, tactile quality, and because the slats fan out evenly from the middle, the light plays across the wood in a way that feels quiet and considered. We chose to range it in black because the darker tone reads evenly across the slats and the centre disc and keeps the whole piece grounded against a pale or a bold ceiling alike.

At 49cm in diameter and 16.6cm in height, the Large sits with real presence without overwhelming a room, and at 2.2kg it stays manageable to fit. It is a surface mounted lamp that works equally well on the ceiling or the wall, so you can use it as an overhead fitting above a dining table or as a fixture beside a bed or in a hallway. It is compatible with E27 bulbs up to a maximum 15W LED G40, which are not included, so you can pick a warmth and brightness to suit the space. Assembly takes around five minutes, and a step by step video is on hand if you would like to follow along.
