Description

The Chelsfield is a 610mm table lamp built around a ceramic base with a pale green glaze that fades to white at the foot, topped with a 360mm white faux linen drum shade and a polished nickel finial. The ceramic base is 305mm tall with a 195mm base diameter, giving the lamp a solid footprint without taking up excessive surface area on a bedside table or console.

Designed for living rooms, bedrooms and studies where soft ambient light is needed, the lamp sits comfortably on bedside tables, console tables and sideboards without dominating the surface. The white faux linen shade diffuses light from a single E27 bulb (sold separately) across 360 degrees, providing general illumination rather than directed task light. The 610mm overall height positions the light source at approximately mid-height when the lamp is placed on a standard bedside table, making it suitable for reading in bed when paired with a warm-white LED bulb.

The pale green to white gradient on the ceramic base is fired into a gloss glaze that catches ambient light during the day and reflects the bulb's glow when lit at night. The lamp takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for bedside or living room use.

Is the lamp dimmable?

Dimmer compatibility depends on the bulb you choose. LED bulbs marked as 'dimmable' will work with compatible dimmer switches. The lamp itself has no built-in dimming function.

What surface area does the lamp need?

The ceramic base has a 195mm diameter footprint, so the lamp needs approximately 20cm of clear surface area. The shade extends to 360mm diameter, so allow at least 36cm of horizontal clearance for the shade to sit without touching walls or adjacent objects.

How is the ceramic base cleaned?

Wipe the glazed ceramic with a soft, dry microfibre cloth. For stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth is acceptable. The faux linen shade can be dusted with a lint roller or soft brush attachment on a vacuum cleaner set to low suction.
