Description

This ceiling light installation kit provides a 135mm diameter metal mounting plate with pre-wired terminals, suspension cable and fixing hardware for installing pendant lights. The kit includes a black powder-coated ceiling rose, terminal block rated for UK mains voltage, braided suspension cable with adjustable grippers, and three ceiling anchors with screws.

Designed for pendant light installations where the fitting is supplied without a ceiling mounting solution, or as a replacement for damaged or outdated ceiling roses. The 135mm diameter covers most standard UK ceiling outlet boxes and provides secure mounting for pendants up to approximately 3-4kg depending on the ceiling structure. The terminal block accepts standard twin-and-earth cable and provides earth continuity through the metal plate.

The black powder-coat finish on the metal plate resists scratching during installation and blends with contemporary interiors where visible ceiling hardware is acceptable. The kit includes adjustable cable grippers that allow the suspension cable to be set to the required drop length on site, avoiding the need to cut and re-terminate the pendant cable. The braided steel suspension cable is rated to support typical decorative pendant loads when paired with appropriately rated ceiling fixings.

Is it suitable for plasterboard ceilings?

The kit includes standard ceiling anchors suitable for solid ceilings. For plasterboard ceilings without a joist above the mounting point, spring toggle fixings or cavity anchors rated for the pendant weight should be used instead of the supplied anchors.

Can the cable length be adjusted after installation?

Yes. The cable grippers allow the suspension cable to be adjusted on site. Loosen the gripper, slide the cable to the required length, then re-tighten the gripper to lock the cable in position.

Is this compatible with dimmer switches?

The kit itself is passive hardware and does not affect dimmer compatibility. Dimmer compatibility is determined by the light fitting and bulb type you connect to this installation kit.
