Description
The Cayman Square is a 130mm antique brass wall light combining two independent LED light sources: a 3W adjustable reading arm projecting 116mm from the wall, and a 6W ambient backlight that diffuses from behind the square backplate. Each light operates on its own switch, allowing the reading arm to be used alone, the backlight alone, or both together depending on the task.
Designed for bedside use, living room reading corners, and hotel headboard installations, the Cayman addresses the dual need for directed task light and ambient background glow without requiring two separate fittings. The reading arm pivots on a brass joint, allowing it to be angled towards a book or tablet, while the 6W backlight casts a soft 120° wash onto the wall behind the fitting, providing general illumination when the reading arm is switched off.
The antique brass finish shows a muted, brushed patina rather than a high-polish shine, giving the fitting a warmer, less reflective tone that suits both traditional and contemporary interiors. The 130mm square backplate is substantial enough to cover old screw holes when replacing a previous fitting, and the compact 116mm projection keeps the reading arm clear of shoulder height when mounted 1.2-1.4m above a mattress. The combined 620lm output from both LEDs running together delivers sufficient light for reading without needing additional bedside lamps.

Frequently Asked
Can the reading arm and backlight be controlled separately?
Yes. Each LED has its own switch. The 3W reading arm and 6W backlight can be used independently or together, giving three lighting modes from one fitting.
What height should it be mounted for bedside reading?
Most bedside installations place the centre of the backplate 1.2-1.4m above the mattress. This positions the reading arm at comfortable shoulder-to-head height when sitting up in bed, and keeps the backlight above pillow level.
Is the reading arm adjustable?
The arm pivots on a brass joint, allowing the beam to be angled towards a reading position. The arm does not extend or retract, but the 116mm projection from the wall is fixed.
What's the difference between the 30° and 120° beam angles?
The 3W reading arm produces a 30° focused beam for task lighting. The 6W backlight diffuses at 120°, casting a wide wash onto the wall behind the fitting for ambient light.
