Description

A nautical-inspired outdoor wall light, this design wraps a clear glass casing in a sturdy metal frame for a simple, hard-wearing look. The upright cylinder shape and brushed or painted finish nod to bulkhead and dockside fittings, so it suits coastal and country homes as much as modern ones. It stands 300mm tall and 100mm wide, with a 160mm projection, and takes a single E27 bulb rated up to 40W. Built from glass, steel and metal, it weighs 0.7kg and is made to shrug off the weather.

With an IP44 rating, the Castfield is protected against splashing water from any direction, which makes it suitable for covered and exposed outdoor walls such as porches, doorways and garden approaches. Fit a pair either side of a front door for a welcoming, symmetrical entrance, or run several along a path or patio wall. An E27 LED filament lamp looks the part behind the clear glass, showing off the filament while keeping running costs low. The dimmable driver lets you soften the level for evenings outside.

The finish comes in brushed stainless steel or a textured matt black, both chosen to stand up to outdoor conditions. Wipe the glass and metal down now and then with a soft damp cloth to clear salt, dust and grime, especially in coastal spots. As a Class 1 fitting it needs an earth connection, so outdoor wiring is best left to a qualified electrician. It sits within our wider outdoor lighting range for a coordinated exterior scheme.
