Description

This is a gourd-shaped ceramic table lamp base finished in a gloss green reactive glaze, with each piece varying slightly so no two are quite the same. It stands 376mm tall with a 170mm diameter, drawing its curves from vintage gourd forms. The Carlstead is supplied as a base with a brushed aged brass switched B22 lamp holder and grey braided flex, ready to take a shade of your choosing.

Its scale is set to suit bedrooms and lounge interiors, so it works nicely on a bedside table, console or sideboard. The gloss green reactive glaze gives it colour and depth, and because the glaze reacts individually in the kiln, each base carries its own pattern and tone. The aged brass stem warms the green and keeps it easy to pair, while the separate shade lets you match it to your room, designed to work with one of our 30cm decorative fabric or raffia shades. At 1.5kg it sits steadily once dressed with a shade, making a colourful yet calm addition to a relaxed room.

The base is glazed ceramic in a gloss green reactive finish, with a brushed aged brass plated stem and a switched brass B22 lamp holder on a 1.5 metre silver grey fabric cable. It takes one B22 bayonet-fit bulb up to 10W, and as a Class 1 earthed, IP20 indoor fitting it connects to an earthed supply and should be kept away from water. Dust the glazed ceramic with a soft dry cloth and avoid abrasive cleaners that could mark the glaze. Add one of our 30cm fabric or raffia shades to complete the look, with more matching pieces available in the range.
