Designed for large dining rooms, entrance halls and living rooms where a central statement fitting is needed, the Capitol Hill provides balanced ambient light distributed across twelve points. The drop is adjustable between 878mm and 2054mm on installation, controlled by the 1219mm chain. The open frame allows light to cast upwards and outwards without obstruction, making it suitable for rooms where the chandelier needs to illuminate a wide area without blocking sightlines across the space.

The polished natural brass finish shows visible grain and tonal variation across the metal, a characteristic of natural brass rather than plated finishes. The brass will develop a patina over time unless periodically polished. The frame construction uses continuous brass tubing bent and welded at the joints, giving the chandelier structural integrity without visible seams or fixings on the outer arms. The fitting weighs approximately 6kg before bulbs are added.

The radial arm arrangement places six upper arms and six lower arms at staggered heights around the central column, creating depth and visual interest when viewed from different angles. What ceiling height is needed?

The minimum drop of 878mm plus the 779mm fitting height requires a ceiling height of at least 2.7m to allow safe clearance below. For dining tables, the chandelier typically hangs 750-900mm above the table surface, which works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.7-3.2m.

Does the brass tarnish over time?

Yes. Polished natural brass develops a patina when exposed to air and handling. This darkening is a natural characteristic of brass and can be slowed by periodic cleaning with a brass polish. The patina can also be embraced as part of the material's aged character.

Is the chain length adjustable during installation?

Yes. The 1219mm chain can be shortened by removing links during fitting to achieve the desired drop between the minimum 878mm and maximum 2054mm. The cable is concealed inside the chain and must be adjusted to match the final chain length.
