Description
The Calyrix Small is a 160mm alabaster table lamp carved from natural Spanish alabaster into two stacked forms: a flared upper bowl that widens before tapering inward, set on a solid conical base. An integrated 3000K LED is concealed within the structure, casting warm light up through the open top of the bowl while the surrounding stone glows softly from within.
At 160mm tall and 160mm in diameter, the Calyrix suits console tables, bedside tables, sideboards and shelving where a sculptural light source is wanted without the height of a traditional shaded lamp. The light it produces is decorative and ambient rather than task-level, making it suited to bedrooms, hallways, living-room side tables and dressing tables where a low, warm glow adds atmosphere alongside other lighting.
Each piece is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so the veining, mineral movement and tonal variation across the stone differ between individual lamps. The flared bowl reads as densely white and lightly veined when unlit, then reveals its translucency once the LED is on, with the thickness of the carved walls visible through the glow. Solid copper detailing is integrated discreetly into the lower section, providing structural support and a quiet warmth that picks up the 3000K colour temperature of the light.
The 230V mains feed runs through a slim black cable from the base, allowing the lamp to be plugged into a standard UK socket via an inline switch or used with a switched socket outlet.

Frequently Asked
How bright is the Calyrix as a table lamp?
The integrated LED produces a warm 3000K decorative glow rather than task-level brightness. It works as ambient or accent lighting on a bedside table, console or shelf, and is best paired with a separate reading or task light if used in a working area.
Does the alabaster vary between pieces?
Yes. Each lamp is carved from natural Spanish alabaster, so the veining, mineral colouring and translucency are unique to each individual piece. This is a feature of the natural stone rather than a defect.
Is the LED replaceable?
The light source is integrated into the lamp body and not designed for user replacement. Integrated LEDs of this type are typically rated for 20,000-30,000 hours of use, which equates to many years at normal domestic use.
How should the alabaster be cleaned?
Alabaster is porous and softer than marble. Wipe with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. For more stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but avoid soaking the stone and do not use household sprays, polishes or chemical cleaners.
