Description

The Calm is a 70mm diameter cylindrical downlight constructed from white gypsum with a recessed GU10 bulb aperture at the base. The fitting mounts directly to the ceiling surface rather than recessing into it, creating a subtle raised profile that directs light downward in a focused cone. The gypsum body is left in its natural matte white finish, which absorbs ceiling texture and sits flush with plasterwork for a minimal visual presence.

Designed for hallways, bedroom task zones, and areas where low-ceiling heights or concrete slab construction make recessed downlights impractical, the Calm provides directional accent light without requiring ceiling void depth. The raised cylinder profile works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or higher, where the 70mm projection does not create headroom concerns. The fitting accepts any GU10 bulb up to 50W (sold separately) and is dimmable when paired with compatible GU10 LED bulbs and appropriate dimmer switches.

The gypsum construction can be painted to match ceiling colour if required, though most installations leave it in the factory white to maintain consistency with plaster ceilings. The 70mm diameter footprint suits grid spacing of 800-1200mm in hallways or 600-900mm in task zones where higher light density is needed. The IP20 rating restricts use to dry indoor areas away from direct water contact.
