Description
The Byron is a 368mm outdoor wall lantern in a dark graphite powder-coated finish with bevelled clear glass panels and a grey reflector disc behind the single E27 lampholder. The lantern frame is rectangular with a canted roof and an arched wall bracket, and the reflector adds a circular accent inside the glass housing. The IP44 rating protects the lampholder from direct spray and makes the fitting suitable for exposed exterior walls, porches and covered outdoor areas.
Designed for front doors, garage walls, garden room entrances and patio perimeters, the Byron provides downward and outward light distribution, with the grey reflector directing some of the output forward through the bevelled glass. The 178mm projection from the wall ensures the lantern clears typical exterior cladding and allows clearance for opening doors beneath. The E27 socket accepts any standard screw bulb up to 60W, giving flexibility to choose filament LED for vintage character or frosted LED for even diffused light.
The graphite finish has a fine texture that resists fingerprints and sits visually neutral against stone, brick, render and painted timber. The bevelled glass edges catch light at different angles throughout the day, adding detail to the otherwise clean geometric profile. The grey reflector disc behind the bulb is powder-coated steel rather than mirrored, providing a soft background glow rather than sharp reflections when the lamp is lit.

Frequently Asked
What does the IP44 rating mean for outdoor use?
IP44 means the fitting is protected against solid objects larger than 1mm and against water splashes from any direction. This makes the Byron suitable for exposed exterior walls, porches, and covered outdoor areas. It is not submersion-rated and should not be installed where it would collect standing water.
What bulb should I use?
The Byron takes a standard E27 screw bulb up to 60W. Most users pair this with a 6-10W warm-white LED filament bulb (2700K) for traditional character, or a frosted LED for softer diffused light. Bulbs are sold separately.
Can this be installed near a front door that opens outward?
The 178mm projection means the lantern sits 17.8cm out from the wall. Check your door's swing arc to ensure clearance — most standard doors allow side-mounted lanterns with this projection, but wide or double doors may require positioning further from the hinge edge.
How is the glass cleaned?
The bevelled glass panels can be cleaned with a standard glass cleaner or warm soapy water. Wipe the graphite frame with a damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners on the powder-coated finish, as they may dull the texture over time.
