At 22.6cm wide and 11.3cm tall, our Medium coat hook gives you a bit more span than the Mini version, which makes it our pick for the busier spots in a home. With a depth of 12.2cm, the two wings reach out far enough to hold a heavy winter coat, a bag and a scarf without everything crowding onto one point. It comes in this Medium size for hallways, boot rooms and the backs of doors where you want a proper amount of hanging room in a compact footprint.

The form is what gives it its name. Two open wooden wings meet at a small block fixed to the wall, angling apart to form a V that reads like a butterfly at rest. It is not a single peg and it is not a rail, so you get two clear hanging arms from one neat fitting. It is made from MDF paired with steel, and here it wears Ruby Red, a warm deep red that stands out against a pale wall or picks up the reds already in a room. We keep the surface a clean matt finish so it stays easy to wipe down and holds its colour over time.
