Bronx Outdoor Wall Light - Black

The Bronx is a black aluminium outdoor wall light with a cylindrical body holding a clear polycarbonate diffuser tube containing a horizontal anti-glare louvre grille. The fitting takes a single E27 bulb up to 60W (sold separately) and carries an IP54 rating, protecting the internal components from dust ingress and water splashed from any direction.

Designed for entryways, porch walls, garage exteriors and courtyard perimeters, the Bronx mounts on an external wall via a rear plate fixed to a standard UK outdoor back box. The 20cm height and 10.8cm projection from the wall give enough presence to act as both marker lighting (identifying a door or path) and functional illumination (lighting a step, threshold or driveway section). The downward-facing louvre grille cuts glare from eye level while still allowing light to spread across the ground and wall.

The aluminium body is powder-coated in matt black, offering corrosion resistance in coastal, urban and rural exposures. The polycarbonate diffuser tube withstands temperature variation and impact better than glass alternatives, making the Bronx suitable for locations where accidental contact is possible (beside pathways, next to garage doors). The fitting works equally well as a single unit beside a front door or in multiples along a rendered wall or fence line, where the repeating cylindrical form creates visual rhythm.

Can the Bronx be used in exposed coastal locations?

The IP54 rating protects against dust and splashed water, and the powder-coated aluminium body resists corrosion. However, in direct coastal spray or high-salt environments, regular rinsing with fresh water extends the life of the finish.

What bulb is recommended?

The fitting takes a standard E27 bulb up to 60W. Most users pair it with a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for outdoor path and entrance lighting. Bulbs are sold separately.

Does the anti-glare grille reduce light output?

The horizontal louvre grille cuts direct glare from eye level but does not significantly reduce total light output. It redirects light downward and sideways, making the fitting more comfortable to look at while still illuminating the ground and wall surfaces.

Is the polycarbonate diffuser UV-resistant?

Polycarbonate diffusers in outdoor lighting are formulated to resist UV degradation and yellowing over typical product lifespans. The material also withstands temperature variation and impact better than glass.
