Description

The Broni is a 20cm diameter pendant light with a dome-shaped shade cast from grey concrete, suspended from a black metal canopy on an adjustable fabric cable. The shade weighs approximately 1.2kg and is formed by pouring concrete into a mould, leaving each piece with subtle surface texture and tonal variation. The inner surface of the concrete is unfinished, while the matt black metal canopy and E27 lampholder provide the electrical fitting.

Designed for kitchen islands, dining tables and entrance halls, the Broni suits spaces where a single directional downlight is needed rather than diffused ambient light. The 24-223cm adjustable drop allows the pendant to be set 600-800mm above a worktop or dining surface depending on ceiling height. The concrete shade directs light downwards through the open base and absorbs heat from the bulb, so an LED E27 is recommended over halogen to keep surface temperatures lower.

The concrete is unsealed and porous, so surface colour may deepen slightly with exposure to atmospheric moisture over time. The matt texture and monochrome grey-and-black palette pairs with industrial, Scandinavian and minimalist interiors. The 20cm diameter provides concentrated task light over a 900mm-1200mm area at table height, making it suitable for two-person dining tables or as one of a series over a longer island.
