Brillix Black Outdoor LED Bollard Light 4000K - 50cm

The Brillix is a 50cm outdoor LED bollard light built from die-cast metal finished in matt black, housing an integrated 4000K LED module behind a frosted polycarbonate diffuser. The IP54 rating protects the internal components from dust ingress and water splashing from any direction, making the bollard suitable for driveways, garden pathways, patio edges and courtyard borders exposed to UK weather.

Designed for pathway marking and low-level orientation lighting rather than flood illumination, the Brillix casts a pool of cool white light downward and to the sides, illuminating approximately 1-1.5m of ground around the base without creating glare at eye level. The 50cm height positions the light source below typical sightlines when walking, suitable for spacing at 2-3m intervals along pathways or driveways depending on the ambient light requirements. The bollard mounts directly onto a concrete base or paving slab using the rectangular base plate, with a cable entry point at the bottom of the column.

The matt black finish absorbs daylight reflections and sits unobtrusively in planted borders or against dark stone paving during the day. The frosted diffuser softens the LED output to avoid harsh spots on the ground, while the 4000K colour temperature provides a neutral white light that renders colours accurately without the warm amber cast of 2700K residential lighting or the clinical blue-white of 5000K+ commercial fittings. The die-cast metal construction gives the bollard structural rigidity to resist accidental knocks from garden equipment or footfall without requiring ground anchoring beyond the base plate fixings.

What does the IP54 rating mean for outdoor use?

IP54 means the bollard is protected from dust ingress (the '5') and from water splashing from any direction (the '4'). This makes it suitable for UK gardens, driveways and pathways exposed to rain, but not for direct water jets or submersion. The bollard should not be installed in areas where it will sit in standing water.

Is the LED replaceable?

The LED module is integrated into the bollard and is not user-replaceable. The LED is rated for tens of thousands of hours of operation and is covered by Ideal Lux's 5-year warranty. If the LED fails within the warranty period, contact us for a replacement or repair.

What is 4000K colour temperature?

4000K is a neutral white light, cooler than the warm white (2700K-3000K) typically used indoors but warmer than the cool white (5000K+) used in commercial or industrial settings. It renders colours accurately without adding a yellow or blue cast, making it suitable for pathways where visibility matters.

How is the bollard installed?

The Brillix mounts onto a concrete base, paving slab or similar solid surface using the rectangular base plate. The electrical cable enters through the bottom of the column. Installation requires mains voltage wiring and should be carried out by a qualified electrician in accordance with UK wiring regulations for outdoor lighting circuits.
