Description
The Brillix is a 50cm outdoor LED bollard light with an anthracite-finished metal body and an integrated warm-white 3000K LED. The rectangular column design features an angled head that directs light downward onto pathways, driveways and garden borders, while the IP54 rating protects the internal LED module from dust ingress and water spray from any direction.
Designed for pathway marking, driveway edging and border illumination in residential gardens, the Brillix provides functional ground-level light without needing external bulbs or ongoing replacements. The 50cm height positions the light source below eye level when standing, reducing glare for pedestrians while still casting sufficient spread to mark pathway edges in low-light conditions. The anthracite finish sits neutrally against stone paving, gravel, rendered walls and planted borders.
The metal construction resists corrosion in damp soil conditions and handles frost cycles without cracking. The rectangular footprint of 138.5mm x 123mm gives the bollard stability when ground-mounted on a concrete base or paving slab, and the flat surfaces make it easier to fit against walls or fences compared to cylindrical bollards. The integrated LED removes the need for periodic bulb changes, and the 3000K colour temperature provides warm white light that softens hard landscaping materials after dark.
The Brillix is part of Ideal Lux's outdoor LED collection, manufactured in Italy with a five-year warranty covering the LED driver and housing. Installation requires a qualified electrician to run mains voltage to the mounting position and seal cable entries to maintain the IP54 rating.

Frequently Asked
What does the IP54 rating mean for outdoor use?
IP54 means the bollard is protected against dust ingress sufficient to prevent interference with operation, and against water spray from any direction. It handles rain, garden hose spray and damp ground conditions, but is not suitable for submersion or direct high-pressure jet washing.
Can the LED be replaced?
The LED is integrated into the bollard and is not user-replaceable. The LED module is rated for tens of thousands of hours and is covered by Ideal Lux's five-year warranty. If the LED fails within the warranty period, the entire unit would be replaced rather than attempting to replace the LED module.
What spacing is recommended between bollards?
For continuous pathway lighting, spacing bollards 3-4 metres apart typically provides overlapping light pools without gaps. For marker lighting where you only need to define pathway edges rather than fully illuminate the surface, spacing up to 5-6 metres is workable.
Does it need to be wired by an electrician?
Yes. The Brillix runs on mains voltage and requires a qualified electrician to install safely, particularly to ensure cable entries are properly sealed to maintain the IP54 rating and to comply with UK outdoor electrical installation regulations.
