Description

The Brilliance is a 30cm hot air balloon-shaped glass pendant light with a white frosted glass envelope and a woven basket detail suspended beneath on thin cords. The glass shade houses a single E27 bulb fitting and the frosted finish diffuses light evenly in all directions, casting soft ambient illumination without glare or harsh shadows.

Designed for children's bedrooms, nurseries, reading nooks and whimsical-themed interiors, the Brilliance adds a playful sculptural element to ceiling lighting. The 650mm overall drop from canopy to basket base suits standard ceiling heights of 2.4m or higher, positioning the balloon at head height when viewed from a seated position. The pendant pairs dimmable functionality with the E27 bulb socket, allowing light levels to be adjusted from bright task lighting during daytime to a soft night-light glow in the evening.

The white frosted glass is blown into the balloon shape and shows subtle thickness variation that creates tonal differences when lit. The woven basket beneath the balloon is constructed from natural fibre rope in a traditional wicker pattern, adding textural contrast to the smooth glass above. The IP20 rating restricts the Brilliance to dry indoor locations only — bathrooms, outdoor covered areas and high-humidity zones are not suitable.

What bulb does the Brilliance take?

The pendant uses a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb, sold separately. Most installations pair this with a warm-white LED between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K to create a soft glow suitable for bedrooms and nurseries.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, the pendant supports dimming when paired with a dimmable E27 bulb and a compatible dimmer switch. Check your dimmer model is rated for LED bulbs if using LED rather than halogen or incandescent.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

No. The IP20 rating restricts the Brilliance to dry indoor locations only. Bathrooms require IP44 or higher for zones near showers, baths and basins.

How is the basket attached?

The woven basket hangs from the base of the glass balloon on three thin cords. It is decorative only and does not house any electrical components. The basket adds visual interest and reinforces the hot air balloon theme.
