Description

This is a sculptural table lamp with a brushed silver frame that interlinks a circle with a rectangular base to hold an opal glass sphere. It stands 322mm tall and 323mm wide, so it has a broad, balanced shape for its height. The Brackstead takes a single G9 capsule bulb inside the gloss opal glass, which glows evenly once lit and softens the light across the room.

It suits a pared-back living room, hallway or bedroom where you want a clean-lined light that doubles as an object. The brushed silver and opal glass keep the palette cool and understated, so it settles easily into modern and minimal schemes. At 1kg it is light and easy to move, and its low, wide form works well on a console, sideboard or shelf. The opal sphere gives a soft, ambient glow rather than a bright task light, making it a good choice for background light and a little quiet sculpture on a surface.

The frame is finished in brushed silver, holding a gloss opal spherical glass shade, with an inline on/off switch on the 1.5 metre grey fabric cable. It takes one G9 capsule bulb up to 3W, and an LED capsule keeps it cool inside the glass. As a Class 2 double-insulated, IP20 indoor fitting it needs no earth connection and should be kept away from water.
