Description

This solar powered bollard brings free, wire-free lighting to a path, drive or garden border. It stands 800mm tall in textured black aluminium and wears a white polycarbonate diffuser that casts a soft warm white glow at a useful height. An integrated LED gives up to 320 lumens, and as it charges by day from the sun there is no running cost and no cable to lay. A built-in PIR sensor covers a 110 degree angle and reaches up to 8 metres, so it responds as you approach.

Three modes suit different jobs. Constant mode lifts a gentle glow at dusk, boost mode holds that low light and brightens on movement, and security mode stays dark until motion triggers 25 seconds of bright light. The taller Blythe bollard is a good marker for a longer path or the turn of a driveway, working as both quiet wayfinding and a deterrent near a gate or garage. An on/off push switch sets the non-motion and motion behaviour before siting.

The aluminium body resists corrosion and the fitting is IP44 rated, ready for rain and damp outdoors. It measures 800mm high by 200mm wide and weighs 1.5kg, steady enough to hold its place along a border through the year. Place it on firm ground in a spot that sees daylight for the strongest charge, and wipe the panel and diffuser from time to time to keep it bright. With the LED integrated there are no bulbs to source or swap. A shorter post height in the same range lets you mix heights along a route while keeping one look.
