Description

This traditional table lamp pairs a 390mm-tall porcelain vase base with hand-painted blue and white Chinese landscape motifs with a 460mm-wide cream empire shade and a dark wood plinth. The porcelain base shows a continuous scene of pagodas, bridges, trees and mountainous landscapes in blue brushwork on a cream glaze, finished with decorative bands at the neck and foot. An E27 lampholder sits inside the shade, accepting bulbs up to 60W (sold separately).

Designed for side tables, console tables and bedroom nightstands where decorative accent lighting is needed, the lamp stands 730mm tall overall with the shade fitted. The 460mm shade diameter needs a table surface at least 500mm wide to avoid overhang. The polycotton empire shade diffuses light evenly, softening the output for ambient rather than task lighting. The wooden plinth base gives stability and lifts the porcelain away from the table surface.

The porcelain base is finished with a high-gloss glaze that reflects ambient light during the day, while the blue and white palette pairs with both warm wood furniture and cooler contemporary schemes.
