Description

The Blue Hex is a porcelain table lamp with a hexagonal vase-style base decorated in a blue-and-white floral pattern, set on a dark wood hexagonal plinth and topped with a 460mm polycotton empire shade. The lamp takes a single E27 bulb up to 60W (sold separately) and stands 750mm tall including the shade.

Designed for side tables in living rooms, console tables in entrance halls and bedside tables in traditional or transitional bedrooms, the lamp provides ambient light through the fabric shade while the porcelain base acts as a decorative element when switched off. The 460mm shade diameter suits table surfaces 600-900mm wide without overwhelming the base footprint. The satin nickel finial at the top of the shade adds a metallic accent that bridges traditional and contemporary finishes in the same room.

The porcelain base shows a repeating floral motif hand-painted in cobalt blue on a cream-white glaze, with the hexagonal profile giving each of the six faces a distinct panel. The dark wood plinth anchors the base and provides a stable platform — the combined weight of porcelain and wood gives the lamp a solid presence on the table. What bulb does it take?

The lamp takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for ambient bedside or living room lighting.

How is the porcelain base cleaned?

The glazed porcelain can be dusted with a soft dry cloth. For fingerprints or marks, a barely-damp microfibre cloth is acceptable. Avoid soaking the base or allowing water to pool around the electrical fitting at the top of the porcelain.

Is the shade replaceable?

Yes. The polycotton empire shade sits on a standard shade carrier at the top of the lamp. Replacement shades with a 310mm top fitting and similar taper are available separately if the original shade becomes damaged or if you want to change the colour.

What table width does it suit?

The 460mm shade diameter works well on console tables, side tables and bedside tables with a surface width of 600-900mm. On narrower tables the shade overhang may look unbalanced; on very wide surfaces the lamp may appear undersized unless used as one of a pair.
