Description

The Blazewood is a 25W constant voltage LED driver delivering 24V DC output from 230V AC mains, housed in a white plastic enclosure rated IP67 for outdoor installation. The driver converts mains voltage to stable low-voltage DC suitable for LED strip lights, LED modules and other 24V DC LED systems requiring up to 25W total load.

Designed for outdoor architectural lighting, garden path lighting, deck and patio installations, and any IP67-rated LED strip or module system, the driver fits behind external wall lights, under decking, inside external soffit boxes, and in shallow recessed fittings where space is limited. The 148mm x 40mm body is narrow enough to fit inside typical outdoor light fixtures and accessory boxes. The IP67 rating provides protection against dust ingress and temporary water immersion up to 1m depth for 30 minutes, making it suitable for installations exposed to rain, snow and garden irrigation overspray.

The white plastic enclosure houses the transformer and rectifier circuit, with cable entries sealed with rubber grommets to maintain the IP67 rating. Input and output cables exit from opposite ends of the driver, keeping mains and low-voltage wiring separated. The non-dimmable output provides constant 24V regardless of mains voltage fluctuation within normal UK grid tolerances, ensuring consistent LED brightness and colour temperature. The driver generates minimal heat during operation, contributing to longer service life for both the driver itself and the connected LED load.

From Ideal Lux, an Italian lighting manufacturer supplying architectural and decorative lighting across Europe. The driver carries a 5-year warranty covering manufacturing defects and component failure under normal operating conditions.

Frequently Asked

What's the maximum LED load this driver can power?

The driver delivers 25W at 24V DC, which equates to approximately 1.04A maximum current draw. Most 24V LED strip is rated in watts per metre, so a 10W/m strip can run approximately 2.5m on this driver. Always calculate total wattage of the connected LED load and stay below 25W to avoid overloading.

Can it be used indoors?

Yes. The IP67 rating makes it suitable for both indoor and outdoor installation. Indoors it works in bathrooms, kitchens, utility rooms and anywhere moisture resistance is beneficial, though it's often oversized for typical dry indoor installations where IP20 drivers suffice.

Is the driver dimmable?

No. The output is constant voltage at 24V and cannot be dimmed via mains dimmers or low-voltage PWM dimmers. For dimmable 24V LED systems, a dimmable driver or a separate PWM controller is required.

How is it wired?

The driver has four cable tails: two for 230V AC mains input (live and neutral, plus earth if metal enclosure) and two for 24V DC output (positive and negative). The mains input must be wired by a qualified electrician in compliance with BS 7671 wiring regulations. The 24V output connects to the LED strip or module positive and negative terminals, observing correct polarity to avoid damaging the LEDs.
