Description

The Bevwick brings together natural ash, aged brass metalwork and a gently flared clear glass shade in one wall light. The wood and the arm are turned and shaped from solid material, and the clear glass lets the bulb show through for a bright, open feel. It is a larger fitting than many wall lights, standing 220mm high and 175mm wide with a generous 290mm projection, so it reaches out from the wall. A single E14 lampholder takes a bulb up to 7W, and the light is fully dimmable with a compatible bulb and dimmer.

With its mix of wood, glass and brass, this one adds a little country luxury to a room, and it suits kitchens and dining spaces as readily as a lounge or a bedroom. The clear glass throws a livelier light than a fabric shade, which makes it useful over a worktop return, beside a dresser, or as a pair flanking a bed. It leans traditional but the clean glass keeps it from feeling heavy, so it also sits well in a relaxed, mixed interior.

The ash is turned from solid sustainably sourced wood and the metalwork is plated in aged brass, while the flared shade is clear glass for easy light. Wipe the glass and brass with a soft cloth and dust the wood dry, avoiding damp or oily cleaners on the timber. The fitting is Class 2 and double insulated, so it needs no earth, and its IP20 rating keeps it to dry indoor rooms. A matching pendant runs alongside the Bevwick in the range if you want to carry the look overhead as well.
