Description

The Bergamo is a 52cm flush ceiling light with a cylindrical grey linen shade wrapped around a chrome metal frame, housing three E27 bulb fittings. The 17.5cm height from ceiling to shade base makes it a low-profile fitting designed for rooms where a pendant would hang too low or where ceiling height is limited.

Designed for bedrooms, living rooms, hallways and home offices with standard 2.4m ceilings, the Bergamo provides ambient light through the linen shade while the three bulbs inside give enough output to serve as primary room lighting. The shade itself is linen fabric applied to a PVC backing, which holds its shape without sagging and diffuses light evenly across the fabric surface. The chrome frame is visible as a thin ring at the top and bottom edges of the shade.

The grey tone of the shade sits between warm greige and cool ash grey, allowing it to pair with both warm wood tones and cooler contemporary palettes. The 52cm diameter covers a reasonable ceiling area without dominating smaller rooms, and the flush-mount configuration means no part of the fitting projects more than 18cm below the ceiling line. The three E27 sockets accept standard screw-fit bulbs up to 60W each, giving flexibility to choose warm-white LEDs for a softer feel or daylight-temperature bulbs for task-focused spaces.

What bulbs does it take?

The Bergamo takes three E27 (Edison screw) bulbs up to 60W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users fit warm-white LED bulbs between 8-12W and 2700K-3000K for ambient bedroom or living room lighting.

Is it suitable for low ceilings?

Yes. The 17.5cm projection from ceiling to shade base makes it a good choice for rooms with standard 2.4m ceilings or lower, where pendant lights would hang into the head space.

Can the shade be cleaned?

The linen shade can be dusted with a soft dry brush or microfibre cloth. For marks, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but avoid soaking the fabric or using household sprays that may stain the linen or damage the PVC backing.

Is it dimmable?

Dimmer compatibility depends on the bulbs fitted. If you use dimmable LED bulbs and pair them with a compatible trailing-edge dimmer, the Bergamo will dim. The fitting itself has no built-in dimming restriction.
