Basis DALI CCT LED Linear Track Light 24W 2700-6000K - Black (Magnetic Exility)

The Basis is a 60cm linear track light with an integrated 24W LED, DALI dimming control, and adjustable colour temperature from 2700K to 6000K. Built from black-finished aluminium, the fitting mounts onto the Maytoni Magnetic Exility track system using magnetic attachment, allowing the light to be repositioned along the track without tools.

Designed for commercial and residential installations where tunable white light is needed, the Basis suits office desks, retail display runs, kitchen worktops, and gallery walls. The DALI protocol allows individual control of each fitting from a DALI controller or lighting management system, enabling different zones to run at different brightness levels or colour temperatures on the same track. The adjustable colour temperature means the fitting can shift from warm 2700K (amber-white, similar to tungsten) to cool 6000K (daylight-white) depending on task requirements or time of day.

The linear form measures 604mm long by 44mm high by 23mm wide, giving a low-profile presence against ceilings or walls when mounted on the Exility track. The black aluminium body conceals the driver and LED strip, with light emitting from the underside through a diffuser that softens the LED array into a continuous line rather than individual points. The magnetic mounting to the Exility track means the fitting can be slid along the track run and locked in position without re-wiring, making reconfiguration straightforward as room layouts change.

The IP20 rating limits the fitting to dry indoor use. The 48V DC supply runs through the Exility track itself, so each fitting draws power magnetically from the track rather than needing individual mains wiring. The aluminium construction dissipates heat efficiently, extending LED lifespan and maintaining stable light output over the 5-year warranty period.

What is DALI dimming and do I need a special controller?

DALI is a digital lighting control protocol that allows individual addressing of each fitting on a circuit. You need a DALI-compatible controller or lighting management system to control brightness and colour temperature. Without DALI control, the fitting cannot be adjusted and will not function on standard mains dimmer switches.

Can this be fitted to any track system?

No. The Basis is designed specifically for the Maytoni Magnetic Exility track system and attaches magnetically to that track. It will not fit standard 3-circuit or single-circuit track systems from other manufacturers.

What colour temperature range does it cover?

The LED can be adjusted from 2700K (warm white, similar to tungsten bulbs) to 6000K (cool daylight white). The colour temperature is controlled via the DALI system, allowing it to be set to any point in that range depending on the task or time of day.

Can it be used in bathrooms or kitchens near sinks?

The IP20 rating means the fitting is suitable only for dry indoor locations. It should not be installed in bathroom zones 0, 1 or 2, or directly above sinks, hobs or other wet areas where moisture or steam is present.
