Description

The Basis is a 904mm linear LED track light with integrated DALI CCT control, designed to mount onto Maytoni's Magnetic Exility track system. The 30W LED module delivers adjustable colour temperature from 2700K warm white through to 6000K daylight white, controlled via DALI protocol for precise dimming and colour temperature tuning across a lighting installation.

Designed for commercial, office and residential applications where controlled task or ambient lighting is needed, the Basis suits installation above kitchen worktops, office desks, retail displays and gallery walls. The linear form distributes light evenly along its 904mm length rather than concentrating it in a single spot, reducing hard shadows on work surfaces. The white aluminium housing measures 23mm wide by 44mm deep, sitting discreetly on the track without dominating sightlines.

The DALI interface allows the light to be programmed into addressable lighting scenes alongside other DALI-compatible fixtures, with colour temperature and brightness adjusted independently per fitting or in groups. The 48V DC power supply runs through the magnetic track itself, so installation involves clipping the light onto the track rail without additional hardwiring. The IP20 rating restricts use to dry indoor environments. The white powder-coated aluminium finish pairs with white or neutral ceilings and trim in contemporary, Scandinavian and minimalist interiors.

What is DALI CCT and how does it work?

DALI (Digital Addressable Lighting Interface) is a lighting control protocol that allows each fitting to be individually addressed and controlled from a central system. CCT means the colour temperature is adjustable, so you can shift the light from warm white (2700K) to daylight white (6000K) and any point between via a DALI controller or building management system.

Can this be used without a DALI controller?

The Basis requires a DALI-compatible control system to adjust colour temperature and dimming. Without DALI control it will operate at a default setting, but you will not have access to the full CCT range or dimming capability. Contact us if you need guidance on compatible controllers.

What is the Magnetic Exility system?

Magnetic Exility is Maytoni's magnetic track lighting system where fittings clip onto a powered track rail via magnetic connection rather than hardwiring. The track supplies 48V DC power, and fittings can be repositioned along the track or removed without tools. The Basis is designed specifically for this system and is not compatible with standard mains-voltage track rails.

What is the IP20 rating suitable for?

IP20 means the fitting is protected against solid objects larger than 12.5mm but has no moisture protection. It is suitable for dry indoor environments only — not bathrooms, kitchens with heavy steam, or any outdoor application.
